Hello everyone.

It finally feels like spring, which means your supply of wines is likely depleted due to all the fireside coziness that has gone on in the last few months.  We can solve that - just stop by the Tasting Room and stock up!

August Cellars has been winning some accolades.  In fact, our 2015 Riesling and our 2013 Dry Gewurtztraminer have each taken two medals in the last six weeks.  Both wines pair very nicely with the fresh foods of spring.

This coming weekend we will feature two pinot noirs that have been aged solely in Oregon oak barrels.  This is unique, and worth the trip on HWY 99 to give them a try.

We call these wines Oregon Barrel Select.  We used only Oregon oak for these wines – a very unique approach and well worth the deviation from French oak.  Released now are both our 2009 and 2010. Each has complexity and the oak is well integrated into the layers of flavor - along with a rich bouquet.  the 2010 is softer.  The 2009 spicier. We offer kudos to the sole cooperage in Oregon that is working with this strain of oak tree.

Happenings.  Join us.

Last Weekend for thisApril  7 - 9. Big Red Club Crawl.  Stop by August Cellars for your card that entitles you to club discounts at several participating wineries that feature big red wines.  This is a great deal, and a chance to get free tastes and discount pricing.

April.  Get Your Gris On.  We won’t be making pinot gris in the next few years as we have decided to focus on our other whites for now.  BUT, you will want to stock up on our 2015 Pinot Gris for spring as it is the perfect pairing for all your fresh spring food flavors like Hoodie strawberries and waffles for brunch, or fresh pea and ginger chilled soup.  This wine has an unexpected vanilla finish.  Yum.
